Epoch Times media outlet to suspend print edition in Hong Kong


A publication intently linked with the Falun Gong group branded by Beijing as an “evil cult” has introduced it is going to droop its print version in Hong Kong after failing to resume the lease of its printing store.

In a Fb put up on Friday, the Hong Kong version of the Epoch Instances mentioned it could stop printing the newspaper on September 17, including the choice was as a consequence of “varied components”.

“Because the Epoch Instances Hong Kong version’s printing group had not been capable of renew its lease after it had expired, along with the varied components in Hong Kong presently, the Epoch Instances Hong Kong Version has determined to briefly cease its printing and the distribution of its each day newspaper,” the outlet mentioned.

However the publication, which began its print version in 2001, mentioned it could proceed to publish its on-line model.

The publication is intently linked with the Falun Gong, a religious group banned on mainland China after authorities branded it an “evil cult” in 1999.
